Technology Evangelist
Development Tools Business Unit
ComponentOne is searching for a Technology Evangelist to join the Development Tools Business Unit. The selected person for this position will promote ComponentOne products through customer-facing interactions and events. This would include live and electronic media-based product demonstrations, technical sessions, and software samples. The selected person would work closely with the Development Tools Product Managers in charge of product marketing activities, competitive analysis, business intelligence and other areas which ensure successful development, deployment and business growth of these product lines.
As a key contributor to supporting and promoting the Development Tools products, the Technology Evangelist must have a solid understanding of the Development Tools products, the underlying Microsoft technologies, and the benefits they provide to developer customers. At the same time, the evangelist must be able to effectively communicate those benefits and technologies to the global development community.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evangelize and represent ComponentOne tools and products within the developer community through face-to-face contact, samples, white papers, blogs, videos, web casts and presentations
- Develop and lead product demonstrations to potential and end user companies and partners
- Participate in prototyping proof-of-concept solutions for customers and prospects
- Promote ComponentOne through online and offline developer communities
- Up to 35% Travel Required
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
- At least 4 years of software development experience with 2 years of development with Microsoft technologies
- A technical bachelor's or higher degree; or equivalent experience
- Advanced Microsoft .NET knowledge in C# and Visual Studio
- Demonstrable knowledge of business software development
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and try new ways of doing things
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills, consensus builder, comfortable with critique, empathetic, passionate and highly collaborative

Benefits
ComponentOne offers an excellent benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life Insurance, 401(k) Retirement Saving Plan, Paid Time Off, and Quarterly Incentive Bonus Plan. Benefits are effective three months following the employee's hire date.
Medical, Dental, and Vision
- Medical Plan - Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield
The PPO Blue plan features 100% coverage in-network and 80% coverage out-of-network. 100% of an employee's premium and 50% of a dependents premium is paid by the company.
- Dental Plan - United Concordia
The Advantage Option IV plan features 100% coverage in-network for preventive and basic work, and 60% coverage for major work. Additionally, this plan provides you with the ability to choose the dentist of your choice.
- Vision Plan - Superior Vision Gold Premium Plan
The Superior Vision plan includes eye and refractions exam coverage once every 12 months. It provides you with 100% coverage in-network, and an out of network reimbursement.
Disability and Life Insurance
ComponentOne provides employees with short term and long term disability insurance through the Hartford Group Life Insurance for Employee, spouse, and eligible dependents.
- Short Term Disability Insurance: The weekly benefit is 66 2/3% of your weekly earnings up to $500 per week.
- Accident: 1st day coverage; illness: 8th day coverage; and benefit duration: 26 weeks.
- Long Term Disability Insurance: The monthly benefit is 60% of your monthly earnings, up to $5,000 per month. Benefits commence on the 181st day.
401(K) Retirement Savings Plan
The 401K savings plan consists of your choice of American Funds and John Hancock Funds. There is a pre-tax deferral of earnings and vested employer matching. The maximum deferral amount is up to 15% of your salary or $14,000 per year ($15,500 if over 50). An additional catch up contribution of $5,000 is available for employees 50 and over.
Paid Time Off
- Holidays: New Years Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, plus two floating holidays per year of employee's choice.
- Sick Leave: Seven days per calendar year.
- Vacation Leave: 12-24 days per year, depending on years of service.
- Bereavement Leave: Up to five days per occurrence in the event of the death of a family member.
- Maternity/Paternity Leave: Both maternity and paternity leave are available.
Quarterly Incentive Bonus Plan
Employee contributions are recognized with a bonus plan based on quarterly financial performance.
